Who are we looking for?
If you can act, sing dance or even all three, we would love you to audition and be part of the show. Roles MC Can you sing and hold a room? We need a talented and charismatic host to drive the night. Singing roles Solos or choir pieces. We will be looking at a mix of both recent and traditional Christmas songs. Acting Roles As part of the show, we will be showing a short 3 act pantomime “Cinderella’ and we want some actors full of stage presence to bring the story to life. The characters are; Baron Hardup - A self important royal who expects the respect his title requires, but who finds, to his own frustration, that others do not share the same view of his importance. Cinderella - A more ‘Geordie Shore’ version of the princess you know and love. Buttons - the servant of the household who really loves Cinderella, but for whom Cinderella doesn’t return the same feelings, much to his sadness. Flatulence and Insomnia - The over the top ugly sisters, except they are played by the same person who simply swaps their wig to change characters. Good Fairy - A dottery and slightly confused fairy who gets a bit muddled. Prince - The Prince Charming, starry eyed and desperately seeking his true love. Dancing roles Throughout the night, there will be opportunity for solos or troupe performance alongside the singers and actors. Auditioning Singers Come along and sing your favourite Christmas track from any era. A Bluetooth speaker will be available at the audition to connect to. if you need a backing track, we highly recommend YouTube where you will find a backing track for nearly any song by searching for the song name and the word ‘karaoke’. We welcome solo auditions, as well as pairs or groups. Dancers Create a short 2-minute dance piece to your favourite Christmas song. We welcome auditions from soloists, pairs or groups. MC Show us how comfortable and entertaining you are with the panel. Sing your favourite Christmas song and give us some of your off the cuff magic chat. Key dates Auditions will take place Saturday the 24th of April between midday and 5pm at Milltown, 28 Bant Street Bathurst. Rehearsals will take place every Monday night at 7pm at Milltown from the 3rd of May. Prior to the show, there may be Sunday rehearsals on the 4th and 11th of July from 4pm if required. The show will take place Saturday the 17th July 2021 at 7pm. We will also have a full tech rehearsal Thursday the 15th July from 6pm as well as a dress rehearsal Friday the 16th July from 7pm so cast must be available for all of these dates. Fees Membership To be part of the show and covered by our insurance, all cast and crew must be current active members of CTS.
